Asia OneHealthcare Hospitals Unite to Reduce Single-Use Plastics Across Our Network

Kuala Lumpur, 15 June 2026 – This marked an important milestone in our sustainability journey. Asia OneHealthcare (A1H) launched Phase 2 of our Single-Use Plastics (SUP) Reduction Project, which kicked off at ParkCity Medical Centre. We drive eco-friendly practices at every level of our operations. Building on our work in energy efficiency and renewable energy, we expanded our focus to reduce plastic waste across our entire network.

The initiative aimed to cut plastic consumption, minimise waste, divert materials from landfills, and improve long-term cost efficiency. It was a practical, serious effort to ensure our daily medical operations protect the environment.
 
Following Phase 1 awareness training across our hospitals in November 2025, Phase 2 brought together teams for an intensive 3-day pilot programme. The event included on-site assessments, data analysis, facility walkthroughs, staff interviews, and collaborative workshops. The programme was guided by Veronica Di Bella, a waste management professional with 18 years of global experience.

Seven hospitals across our network actively participated namely – Ara Damansara Medical Centre, Columbia Asia Hospital Tebrau, Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri, Columbia Asia Hospital Seremban, Columbia Asia Hospital Setapak, Columbia Asia Hospital Bukit Jalil, Columbia Asia Hospital Bukit Rimau.
